Join Espresso Manifesto's Daniela Nardi and Metro Morning's Mary Wiens (CBC Radio) for the launch of a fascinating new book exploring the traditional skill of embroidery in the Italian diaspora.

Embroidered Stories: Interpreting Women’s Domestic Needlework from the Italian Diaspora is an interdisciplinary collection of creative and academic writings about the craft and cultural significance of needlework within the Italian immigrant communities in various countries. It looks at the period from late nineteenth century to late twentieth century.

Six of the collection's 37 authors will take place in the presentation, which will also feature a live Q&A in which audience participation is encouraged.

Food for the event will be provided by Massimo Bruno, see full menu below.
