It has been a while since I have featured food from Venice and the region of Veneto. Venice is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and like so many places in Italy it has delicious food too: great shellfish dishes and heartier fare like polenta and roasted duck. I can't wait to share some of my favourite Venetian dishes with you!

Polenta with sausage and porcini ragout 

Gamberi alle erbe (shrimps with fresh herbs and white wine) 

Casumzei ampezzani (stuffed pasta with beet and ricotta with butter and poppy seed)

Sgroppino (lemon sorbet with prosecco)
