This for sure one of the most famous and recognized region of Italy, from the beauty of a stunning countrysyde to some of the best vino and food of Italy. Click on the picture to get more info and details.
I host my supper club once a month, I have a long harvest table where 30 people seat all together, bring their own favourite vino and eat and “share” the experience with new friend, this is what it’s all about at the end. I have regional theme, holiday theme like Italian Christmas, summer theme with “al fresco” dinner with Florentine steak, but usually I have a “taste of Italy” a presentation of some of the best Italian food, from south to north, little tasting to learn more about Italy's regions.
This is going to be fun and special for me, my mom is coming in April to visit us. The best way to make an Italian mamma happy is to put her in the kitchen and cook! This time me and my mom will be cooking together some of our favorite family dishes from our region of Puglia!
The supper club is my little “baby”. My first supper club was the region of Puglia, my home region, it was a way to feature and present my region to a group of people to launch my first Puglia tour, it was 2005…..than I’ve got married and I had a beautiful bambina but I never forgot how much I loved the experience of sharing and serving food the way my Mamma taught me.
I’m curious for nature, and learning more about regional Italian food made me very exited, for me every region was something new, Italy can look geographically small but it has 20 regions and around 90 provinces, all of them have their own cultures and food, and to understand Italian you have to know what they eat, this will tell you a lot about their past and present. Since this journey, I have cooked for each region of Italy, what a ride and what a learning , I loved to share this experience with the people that attended to the supper club, the people that loved Italian food and culture, I give them what I learned but also my point of view of Italian food, isn’t just about the food but it’s around the experience and interaction around the table.
I’m open to new cuisine and I’ll have a French theme for this November, well I can’t cook French or my Mom will smack me in the face, but my friend Home cook (she’s like me, not a chef) Chantal Vechambre from Paris will be making a nice classic French night, this is to show you that Italian and French get along, we have lots of things in common like food, wine and complaining, we’re really good at those things. Alla Famiglia!
