We had the pleasure of going on Massimo’s trip to Sicily in May 2023. It was a fabulous time! Massimo and Rosella have curated a series of exceptional and personal experiences to introduce the group to the best Sicily has to offer. Highlights of the unique adventures include dining at a chef’s private residence with incredible views, roller-coaster-like rides through the narrow cobblestone streets in vintage Fiat 500s, learning to make fresh pasta and traditional caponata, and having a private tour and dinner at the palazzo of a Marquis – a Downton Abbey moment of wish fulfillment. From the first night with drinks and appetizers on a rooftop restaurant overlooking the city of Palermo Massimo and Rosella were generous and convivial. They set a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere that helped bring our group together, and I hope to stay in touch with all the friends I made along the way. Despite not always lucking out with the best weather, Massimo and Rosella created a warm atmosphere where everyone felt welcome.
The organization of the tour was excellent – we were well accommodated (one of us having lower mobility, the other a vegetarian), with knowledgeable, entertaining tour guides, and fabulous food and wine (and aperitifs, and digestifs, and coffee, and treats…). Even in a slight moment of stress where we thought we had lost a passport, Rosella kept us calm and was able to see us through the crisis, really going out of her way to help us. Marcia and I have traveled the world over the past 40 years together. We both agree our Sicily tour with Massimo and Friends is one of the greatest travel experiences of our lives! Your hands on approach and terrific local knowledge were unbelievable. From touring a private palace in Palermo….to making sausage in Caccamo….to racing Fiat minis thru Modica …only the Massimo team could make this experience happen. You could not do it on your own or with any other tour companies. The hotels and venues were all first rateLast, the trip felt like we were traveling with family. It was not like a “tour” at all. Your infectious enthusiasm had all of us smiling all the time.
